Mexican branch of Catholic Church Abused 175 Children: Report

Priests in the ultra-conservative Mexican branch of the Roman Catholic Church, sexually assaulted about 175 an internal report published on Saturday reveals.

Marcial Maciel,the founder of the Legionaries of Christ, assaulted around 60 kids, with an aggregate of 33 ministers or elders recognized to have submitted rapes against minors since 1941, the report says.

The discoveries of the report — composed by a commission made in June by the director general of the group, Eduardo Robles-Gil — ranges from the group’s result findings in 1941 until December 16, 2019.

“By far most of the unfortunate casualties were adolescent young men somewhere in the range of 11 and 16 years of age,” the announcement stated, distributed on, which is upheld by the Legionaries of Christ.

The report takes note of that 18 of the 33 people who did the abuses are still in the association, yet says they have been expelled from duties associated with the public or minors.

Fourteen of the 33 had themselves been victims of the Legionaries, which the report said highlights the existence of “chains of abuse” where “a victim of a Legionnaire, over time, becomes in turn an aggressor”.

“There are most likely a bigger number of instances of maltreatment than those in the report and the insights should be refreshed routinely,” it included.

Ceroabusos likewise takes note of that a procedure of “reparation and compromise” with 45 victims is occurring, while at the same time recognizing that it presently can’t seem to extend it to the others.
