A 19-year-old desperate Chinese girl has posted in the advertisement titled ‘(I am) selling myself’ on WeChat, a Chinese social media platform, that she wants to sell herself in order to raise money for her ill mother’s medical treatment.
She had also promised that the ‘buyer’ with the highest bid can do anything with her body as he pleases.
Cao born and raised in a rural household in Gaozhou city of southern, said in her post that her mother was 45 years old and had been a farmer all her life and now she had been diagnosed with skin cancer.
She added that her mother’s health was deteriorating and serious infection had started developing on her right thigh.
In Her post she said:
“I wish that a kind-hearted person could buy me, so my mother can undergo the operation. After the transaction, I am willing to work at the will of the buyer in return. I will do whatever the buyer asked me to do. I never go back on my word. Everything I said is true. I will sell myself to the highest bidder.”
She also wrote her contact number in the post. Cao also said that she was the eldest of five children in her family and also responsible for her family’s misfortune.
According to report, Cao dropped out of high school due to her poor family’s background and she is currently working as a labourer picking up casual shifts.
Presently, the founder of a Chinese charity, Mr Huang Qiliang, said that a ‘generous boss’ has agreed to settle all Cao’s mum’s medical bills without her selling or giving anything in return.
Mr Huang, however, did not tell what the man intended to do with her. Cao’s mother is expected to receive operation in the future, Mr Huang claimed.
Cao said that to treat her mother’s illness, they would need about 350,000 Yuan (N16.2m). Her mother did not have medical insurance and her family would not be able to afford the cost as Cao earns less than 1,000 Yuan (N46,442) every month to support her family members, including her elderly father and young siblings.
